What’s it all about?

A fun and creative way to spend your school holidays!

A five day workshop, with a class lasting 1.5 hours per day.

Morning and afternoon sessions available.

Suitable for children aged 7-16.

Maximum workshop size is 6 children.

Includes all equipment and materials, including glazing and firing of 3-4 pieces, for collection later. Delivery can also be arranged.

£120 per child.

Morning sessions 10:30-12:00

Afternoon sessions 13:30-15:00.

All sessions booked must be either all mornings or all afternoons.

How Does It Work?

Day 1 – Introduction to Clay & Hand-Building Basics. Get hands-on with clay and learn the basics of working safely in the studio. Children will be introduced to essential tools, materials, and simple hand-building techniques, including pinch pots.

Day 2 – Coil Building & Slab Techniques. Explore how to build forms using coils and slabs. Children will watch demonstrations and begin creating their own structured pieces while developing control and confidence with clay.

Day 3 – Texture & Decoration. Focus on creativity and surface design. Children will learn how to add texture, patterns, and decorative details to make their work more personal and expressive.

Day 4 – Refining & Building Confidence. Children will refine their pieces, improve shapes, and learn simple joining and finishing techniques. Support is given to help develop stronger, more intentional designs.

Day 5 – Glazing Introduction & Finishing Process. An introduction to glazing and colour choices. Children will learn how pottery is finished, understand firing processes, and prepare their pieces for completion in the kiln.
