ONE DAY HANDMADE POTTERY WORKSHOP

About the Workshop
Exploring Clay & Hand-Building Techniques
Get hands-on with clay as you discover the essential tools, materials, and safe studio practices used in pottery. You’ll watch live demonstrations of key hand-building methods—including pinch pots, coil building, slab construction, and the Japanese Kurinuki technique—before trying them yourself.
With step-by-step guidance, you’ll create your first small pieces while learning how to add texture, patterns, and refined finishing touches. You’ll also be introduced to the full pottery process, with a clear explanation of how drying, firing and glazing transform your work from raw clay into finished ceramics.
Refining & Personalising Your Creations
Take your work to the next level by reviewing your pieces and learning how to refine them. You’ll troubleshoot imperfections and explore more advanced shaping and joining techniques to create more complex forms with confidence.
Add your own creative flair by carving, texturing and experimenting with decorative details to make each piece truly unique. Your work will then be prepared for bisque firing, while you’re guided through glazing techniques and colour combinations—so you understand how your finished pieces will be completed.
